April Reading Wrap Up

So far this year I've been a terrible reader, I was hoping that in April I would manage to read more but unfortunately I didn't. I partially blame the vacation that I took because leading up to it I was busy researching trip stuff, during it I was too busy taking pictures and enjoying the scenery, and after the trip I just didn't feel like it.

The Animators by Kayla Rae Whitaker - (3/5) I've head a lot about this book before reading it, mostly good stuff. I found this book to be predictable about pretty much everything until the very very end when something actually unexpected happens. For me 70% of the book was about nothing and it felt like it was dragging on forever. The characters were very meh and I couldn't really relate to them enough to care about what was going on. Overall I wish I didn't read it because I feel like this book got me in a reading slump

Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough - (5/5) This book may not be for everyone, so if you're not into thrillers and not really knowing what to believe then this might not be a good read for you. However, I'm a fan of that type of thing so this was right up my alley. I felt like I was expecting whatever it was that was going to happen at the end, but I was SO wrong. The ending is unexpected because you don't think it's possible so the book ends up tricking you. I was definitely invested in the story and I ended up finishing this book in a couple of days. It's been a while since I've read a book that really captivated me and left me completely shocked.

What did you read in April? Have you read these books?
